Kerala: Nine People Arrested For Lynching Bihar Man On Suspicion Of Theft

The Kerala police on Monday detained nine persons for killing a Bihar native on suspicion of theft.

According to Malappuram SP Sujith Das, Rajesh Manchi, 36, was lynched in Keezhissery.

The accused thrashed Rajesh Manchi with pipes and wooden sticks, causing injuries to his chest, ribs, and hips. Rajesh Manchi’s body was discovered on the night of May 12 (Friday) in Keezhissery.

The accused interrogated Rajesh Manchi about the theft by torturing him for more than two hours with sticks and pipes after tying his hands. The accused filmed the act, and the footage is now in the possession of the police.

The police came on the scene when locals told them about the incident. They discovered Rajesh Manchi in an unconscious state and took him to a local hospital, but the doctors confirmed that he was brought dead.

The apprehended accused stated that Rajesh Manchi was a thief, according to preliminary inquiry.

According to officials, the police are conducting a thorough investigation into the situation. They have grabbed the attackers’ cellphones and are scanning the CCTV footage in the neighbourhood. The case is being investigated by a special team led by Kondotti ASP.
