A court of Kota Rajasthan, sentenced a man to 14 years in prison for repeatedly raping a minor girl in 2019 and sending videos of the act to her in-laws three years ago. A man named Mahaveer Meena (29), who resides in Rajasthan’s Bundi district, was found guilty of repeatedly raping a minor girl. He filmed the intimate moments on his mobile phone and sent the videos to her in-laws. As a result of his heinous actions, he has been sentenced to 14 years in prison by the POCSO Court 4.

The victim filed a complaint against Meena on May 23rd, stating that he took her to a hotel on November 24, 2019, and raped her there. Subsequently, he continued to rape her multiple times, using the threat of making the video public to control her.

To further exacerbate the situation, Meena sent the video of the rape to the victim’s husband and in-laws after her marriage in May 2020, leading to the breakdown of their relationship.

As a consequence of his actions, Mahaveer Meena has been ordered to pay a fine of Rs 1.14 lakh in addition to his 14-year prison sentence. The case had initially been under trial at the woman’s atrocities court but was eventually transferred to the POCSO Court 4 for resolution.
