Liquor Policy Case: Manish Sisodia’s Judicial Custody Extended Till May 28

The Delhi court today extended the judicial custody of AAP leader Manish Sisodia till May 28 in a money laundering case related to an alleged excise scam.

Sisodia, who was produced before the court on the expiry of his judicial custody, stated to media that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi will not be able to stop Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s work.

Previously, the court dismissed the bail plea of Sisodia, stating that “the case of economic offenses has serious repercussions upon the general public and society at large as the evidence collected during investigation speaks volumes of his involvement in the commission of the said offense”.

On March 9, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) arrested former Delhi deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia in the liquor policy case.

Earlier, Sisodia was arrested by the CBI in the ongoing investigation of a case related to irregularities in the implementation and framing of the excise policy of the National Capital Territory of Delhi (GNCTD).

Currently, he is in judicial custody in both cases.
