E-Sewa Kendra

The Chief Justice of India (CJI) DY Chandrachud on Friday inaugurated the e-Sewa Kendra at the Supreme Court of India’s Main Building Complex.

The e-Sewa Kendra aims to offer litigants and lawyers a one-stop solution for all of their requirements related to filing cases and gaining access to data on cases that are pending or disposed in any court across the country.

According to the CJI, two e-filing facilitation centres will be available 24×7 to assist lawyers who are not familiar with technology and ensure that they are not left behind.

“E-filing will be available 24×7 and we have opened two e-filing facilitation centres. It is near Gate D. The idea is that lawyers not comfortable with technology are not left behind,” CJI stated.

The newly constructed facility is outfitted with e-filing software, which lets litigants and lawyer’s access other services as well as file cases online. Additionally, it has two designated video conference rooms for online hearings and consultations.
