Madras HC Justice SM Subramaniam Distributes Cold Bottles Of Buttermilk In Courtroom

In the midst of heated debates in the stifling Chennai heat, visitors to Justice SM Subramaniam’s Madras High Court courtroom can now cool off with a refreshing cold bottle of buttermilk.

At 12PM, when the bench rises for a 10-minute break, Justice Subramaniam’s court staff has started giving out 200 ml bottles of Aavin buttermilk to attorneys, staff members, and anybody else present in the courtroom.

The judge has been spending his own money to procure the bottles from the Aavin Milk Booth at Gate Number Three of the High Court.

Advocate Chevanan Mohan thanked the judge for the kindness this afternoon, Justice Subramaniam brushed it off, stating he was simply saving the lawyers and staff a trip to the Aavin booth in the heat.

“I told him that this gesture demonstrates what a big-hearted man he is. He just smiled and said, ‘It’s so hot, why should we have to go all the way to the Aavin booth in the middle of the afternoon?” the lawyer stated.
