Money Laundering Case: Ranchi Court Remands Alamgir Alam to 6-Day ED Custody

Jharkhand Minister Alamgir Alam, arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with its money laundering probe, was remanded to the agency’s custody for six days on Thursday, as per lawyers.

Earlier today, the minister appeared before a PMLA court in Ranchi, under tight security, stated an ED official. Alam was arrested following a six-hour interrogation by the ED on Wednesday at their office here. He had also been questioned by the federal agency for over nine hours on Tuesday, during which his statement was recorded.

Alam, serving as the state parliamentary affairs minister, represents the Pakur seat in the Jharkhand assembly.
