Muzaffarnagar Court Sentences Accused to Life Imprisonment for Looting Police Rifles and Killing Constable

A court in Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh, has awarded a life imprisonment to an accused who looted two police rifles and fatally shot a constable.

Additional District and Sessions Judge Hemlata Tyagi, citing Section 302 of the IPC, also imposed a fine of Rs 20,000 on Neetu Kail after finding him guilty.

Due to insufficient evidence, the court acquitted 12 other individuals.

Additional Government Council Kuldeep Kumar stated that the convict, along with several others, had seized two police rifles after killing police constable Kirshanpal and injuring constable Amit Kumar on October 12, 2011.

This incident occurred near a bridge in Mastgarh village in Shamli district. Subsequently, the police recovered the stolen rifles and apprehended the suspects. A charge sheet was filed against 16 accused, including two women, in connection with the robbery. During the trial, three of the accused passed away, Kumar added.
