The Patiala house court on Monday will hear a defamation suit filed by Bollywood actress and Dancer Nora Fatehi against Jacqueline Fernandez.
Nora has alleged that Jacqueline made “defamatory imputations due to malicious reasons”.
Nora Fatehi said in her plea, that “Jacqueline Fernandes sought to criminally defame the complainant in order to destroy her career to further her own interests, since they are both working in the same industry and have similar backgrounds, amongst other reasons,” Nora Fatehi said in her plea.
Nora also named several media houses in her defamation plea.
Nora Fatehi also stated that the allegation and claims made by Jacqueline Fernandes and by other accused that Fatehi had also received gifts from Sukesh Chandrashekhar is wrong, and further clearing her side Nora Fatehi said that she had spoken to Sukesh Chandrashekhar when his wife, Leena Maria Paul, made her speak to him over speakerphone at the event in Chennai where Nora Fatehi was invited by Leena Paul. At the event, Fathehi was gifted an iPhone and a Gucci Bag by Leena Paul, wife of Sukesh Chandrashekhar, and no gifts were ever received by Nora Fatehi from Sukesh Chandrashekhar.
Whereas Jacqueline’s written pleading before the court where she submitted that “she was being falsely implicated by the ED while celebs such as Nora Fatehi who had also received gifts from conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar had been made witnesses.”
Nora further stated that her reputation has been ruined because of her media trial and she even lost brand deals and several shows after Jacqueline’s statements.
Both Nora Fatehi and Jacqueline Fernandez have been quizzed by the Enforcement Directorate in the Rs 200 crore extortion case involving conman Sukesh Chandrasekhar. While Nora is a witness, Jacqueline is being treated as an accused in the case.
