The Congress’ candidate for the Karanpur assembly constituency in Rajasthan, Gurmeet Singh Kooner, passed away during treatment at AIIMS-Delhi, as confirmed by party leaders on Wednesday.
At the age of 75, Kooner, the incumbent MLA from Karanpur, had been admitted to the Geriatric Medicine Ward at the All India Institute Of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Delhi on November 12, 2023.
According to the hospital’s issued death certificate, Kooner succumbed to sepsis with septic shock and renal disease. Additionally, he was contending with hypertension.
The demise comes ahead of the polls for the 200-member Rajasthan assembly, scheduled for November 25, 2023.
