Rameshwaram Cafe Blast: Bengaluru Court Grants NIA 10-Day Custody of Accused Individuals

A special NIA court in Bengaluru (Karnataka) granted the National Investigation Agency (NIA) 10 days custody of two accused in the Rameshwaram Cafe blast case for further investigation on Saturday.

The two accused individuals-Mussavir Hussain Shazib and Adbul Matheen Ahmed Taahaa were produced before a special NIA court judge today.

The accused were transferred to the state capital from Kolkata on transit remand, for their alleged involvement in the March 1 blast at Rameshwaram Cafe located in Brookefield (Bengaluru), which resulted in 10 people being injured.

As per the national agency, Shazib planted the Improvised Explosive Device (IED) at the cafe and Taahaa was the mastermind.

It is to be noted that last month, the NIA offered a reward of Rs 10 lakh each for those providing information leading to the arrest of these two accused.

An IED explosion occurred at the cafe situated on ITPL Road, Brookefield, Bengaluru, on March 1, 2024.

The NIA assumed control of the investigation on March 3.
