Renukaswamy Murder Case: Bengaluru Court Remands Actor Darshan Thoogudeepa to Judicial Custody

Renukaswamy Murder Case

In the Renukaswamy murder case, a Bengaluru Court on Saturday placed Kannada actor Darshan Thoogudeepa in judicial custody until July 4, 2024.

His alleged accomplices Vinay, Pradosh, and Dhanaraj were also remanded to judicial custody.

The actor had been in police custody since June 11.

Two days earlier, thirteen other accused, including Darshan’s friend Pavithra Gowda, were remanded to 14 days’ judicial custody. In total, 17 people are implicated in the murder case.

According to police sources, Renukaswamy, a fan of the actor, had allegedly sent obscene messages to Gowda, which reportedly provoked Darshan and led to Renukaswamy’s murder. Renukaswamy’s body was discovered near a stormwater drain next to an apartment in Sumanahalli on June 9.
