Retired officer Jagdish Arora and Contractor Anil Aggarwal of Delhi Jal Board, who were arrested on charges of irregularities in awarding tender to Delhi Jal Board for the supply of electromagnetic flow meters in the capital and corruption worth crores of rupees, have been sent to ED custody for four days. .

Special Judge Bhupinder Singh of Rouse Avenue Court granted the ED custody after hearing the arguments of the government lawyer and defense lawyers. Earlier, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) produced retired chief engineer Jagdish Arora and contractor Anil Aggarwal and sought seven-day custody. They were arrested on Wednesday.
ED’s special public prosecutor, Manish Jain, and advocate Ishan Bainsla urged the court that the custody of the accused was required to confront them with the digital data recovered during the investigation.
The government lawyer also said that some other people were also being called for face to face investigation. There is a need to make them face to face with the accused. Therefore there is a need for their physical remand.
It is alleged that the accused awarded a contract to M/s NKG Infrastructure Limited on September 20, 2018, for supply, installation, testing and commissioning (SITC) of electromagnetic flow meters and related O&M operations for five years by Delhi Jal Board (DJB). . The total cost of this order was Rs 38 crore 02 lakh 33 thousand eighty. A contract of such huge cost was given to a company which did not meet the criteria set by the department.
