SC Assures Bilkis Bano Of Early Hearing Against Remission To Convicts

The supreme court assured Bilkis Bano on Tuesday that her plea will be heard soon after the constitution of a new bench.
A bench of Justices PS Narasimha, JB Pardiwala & CJI DY Chandrachud assured Bilkis Bano (represented through her lawyer Shobha Gupta) that the bench will be formed at it’s earliest.
Shobha Gupta mentioned the matter for the urgent hearing and stated that new bench needs to be constituted by Chief Justice of India Justice Bela M Trivedi, recused from hearing the plea.
