SC Will Hear Petition: Deaths Due To Spurious Liquor In Chhapra, Bihar

The Supreme Court will hear on January 9 a petition demanding an SIT probe into the deaths due to spurious liquor in Chhapra, Bihar.

Today, the petitioner mentioned his petition before CJI DY Chandrachud and asked for an early hearing on his petition. CJI DY Chandrachud said we will on January 9. A public interest litigation has been filed in the Supreme Court demanding a SIT probe into the entire matter and compensation to the victims.

The Aryavarta Mahasabha Foundation has filed this PIL in the Supreme Court.

The petitioner demanded a  national action plan to control the manufacture, trade and sale of illegal liquor across the country.

Last Month, in Mashrak and Isuapur police station area of ​​Chhapra district of Bihar, more than 30 people have lost their lives due to spurious liquor, while many people are still undergoing treatment in the hospital.
