Seelampur Murder Case: Karkardooma Court Sends ‘Lady Don’ Zikra To 2-Day Police Custody

Seelampur Murder Case

In a chilling case that has sparked public outrage, 25-year-old Zikra Khan, infamously known in the Seelampur area as the “Lady Don”, has been remanded to two days’ police custody following her arrest in connection with the brutal murder of a 17-year-old boy, Kunal.

The incident, which unfolded on Thursday evening just steps from the victim’s home, is being treated by police as a revenge killing. According to investigators, Zikra’s cousins, Sahil and Dilshad—are believed to have carried out the stabbing, while Zikra played a key role in orchestrating the attack.

Police Push To Nab Remaining Accused

Zikra’s custody was granted to assist in tracing the absconding cousins and recovering the murder weapon. Delhi Police have formed ten specialized teams, launched multiple raids, and are scanning CCTV footage to track the movements of the accused post-crime.

Officials revealed that the motive traces back to a confrontation from November 2024, in which Zikra’s cousin Sahil was allegedly attacked by two boys associated with Kunal. Although Kunal was present, he was not named in the case due to being a minor. Police say the suspects held Kunal responsible and plotted revenge.

Kunal was stabbed multiple times near a busy market in Seelampur and later succumbed to his injuries at LNJP Hospital.

Public Anger & Political Response

The gruesome killing led to late-night protests by locals and relatives, demanding swift justice. Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has assured the victim’s family of strict action. “I’ve spoken to the Police Commissioner. Efforts are underway to catch all those involved. Justice will be delivered,” she said.

However, Kunal’s mother remains unconvinced. “No one from the police has informed us of any progress. It feels like they’re helping the killers escape,” she said tearfully.

Zikra, who once worked as a bouncer for the wife of jailed gangster Hashim Baba, is no stranger to police. She was recently released from jail after serving time under the Arms Act and is known for carrying a firearm regularly. After the arrest of her former associate Zoya in a drug case, Zikra is believed to have been attempting to form her own gang — a move that earned her the moniker “Lady Don” on the streets.

Police believe her growing ambitions in the local crime circuit may have emboldened her role in the fatal attack.
