Supreme Court Collegium appointed Justice T A Goud as the Acting Chief Justice of Tripura High Court with its effect from February 23.
The bench headed by Chief Justice Jaswant Singh, who was recently being appointed as Chief Justice who retires on February 22.
Justice T A Goud being the senior-most puisne judge of Tripura High Court and it has earlier alos remained as the Acting Chief Justice of the High Court.
The Supreme Court Collegium also recommended that Justice Aparesh Kumar Singh for the position of Chief Justice of the High Court of Tripura, who being the seniormost Judge in the Jharkhand High Court.
The Supreme Court Collegium stated in the resolution dated February 07 that the state of Jharkhand is unrepresented among the Chief Justices of the High Courts and thus, the Supreme Court Collegium resolves to recommend that upon the retirement of Mr. Justice Jaswant Singh, Mr. Justice Apresh Kumar Singh who is to be appointed by the court as the Acting Chief Justice of the High Court of Tripura.
