A court in Thane (Maharashtra) district has sentenced a man to 10 years of rigorous imprisonment for raping a 9-year-old girl in 2015.
Special Judge DS Deshmukh (for POCSO cases) said that, “the punishment should give a clear message to the society at large that perpetrators in such cases are dealt with iron hand.”
The Court also levied a fine of Rs 5,000 on the 44-year-old accused, a resident of Kashigaon in the Mira Road area.
