Top Telugu actor Allu Arjun, who is an accused in the case related to the death of a woman in a stampede during the premiere of his latest film ‘Pushpa-2’, appeared via video conference before a local court on Friday.

The actor, named as accused No. 11 in the case, also filed a regular bail petition, which is scheduled for hearing on December 30.

Arjun was arrested on December 13 in connection with the incident and was later produced before the Nampally court, where he was remanded to 14-day judicial custody. After serving the custody, the actor appeared in court virtually for further proceedings.

Following his arrest, the Telangana High Court granted Arjun interim bail for four weeks, from December 13, and he was released from jail on December 14.

The incident in question occurred on December 4 at the Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad, where a stampede-like situation erupted as fans rushed to catch a glimpse of Allu Arjun during the Pushpa-2 premiere.

In the chaos, a 35-year-old woman tragically lost her life, and her eight-year-old son was injured.

In response to the incident, the city police registered a case against Allu Arjun, his security team, and the theatre management, under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), based on a complaint filed by the deceased woman’s family at the Chikkadpally police station.
