Unnao Rape Case: Delhi High Court Issues Notice To CBI On Former BJP MLA’s Plea

The Delhi high court today issues notice to CBI on former BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar’s plea for interim bail to attend his daughter’s wedding scheduled in February.

A division bench of Justices Mukta Gupta and Poonam A Bamba has directed the CBI to verify the facts of Sengar’s plea and file a status report by January 16.

Kuldeep Singh Sengar has filed an interim bail plea in the Delhi High Court. Kuldeep Singh Sengar has sought bail from the court to attend his daughter’s wedding.

Sengar’s daughter is to be married on 8 February 2023, whose program will start from 18 January. Kuldeep Singh Sengar is serving life sentence in the Unnao rape case.

The case of rape came to light in the year 2017. On 20 December 2019, Sengar was sentenced to life imprisonment in the Unnao rape case.
