UP Court Sentences Man To 10 Yrs Of Rigorous Imprisonment For Raping Minor

UP’s Maharajganj court on Wednesday has sentenced a man to 10 years of rigorous imprisonment for raping a minor girl in 2019.

Assistant District Government Counsel Vinod Kumar Singh stated, Special Judge (POCSO) Vinay Kumar Singh also imposed a fine of Rs.7,000 on the convict Mohmmad Alam on Tuesday.

The incident took place on July 13, 2019 when Alam lured the 14-year-old girl from her house and raped her.

The survivor’s father filed a complaint after which a case was lodged under relevant sections of the IPC, including 376 (rape) and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act.
