Virtual Traffic Court at Metropolitan Court, Ahmedabad for Traffic eChallans from Gujarat was made operational recently.
“Upon successful integration of One Nation One Challan project with Traffic Police Challans and RTO Challans in the State of Gujarat, the Virtual Traffic Court under the aegis of the eCourts Project has been implemented with guidance from the eCommittee of Hon’ble Supreme Court of India and assistance from NIC team at Pune, Maharashtra,” the Gujarat High Court Registrar General stated.
The Virtual Traffic Court was made functional in accordance with the supervision of Acting Chief Justice A. J. Desai, the Chairperson of the High Court’s I. T. Committee, and other I. T. Committee Judges.
The Virtual Traffic Court was created with the goal of eliminating the need for litigants to appear in court in person, as the system allows users and car owners to complete all proceedings online.
Accroding to the press release, if an eChallan fine amount is not paid within 90 days, the eChallan is automatically transmitted to the servers of Virtual Traffic Court.
“If the Virtual Traffic Court takes up the case and issues a notice, an SMS notice will be sent to the vehicle owner’s mobile phone. Following that, the vehicle owner can either pay the fine imposed by the Virtual Traffic Court online or choose to contest the case in the regular Court,” the Registrar General stated.
