The IV Additional District Judge Court in Visakhapatnam has condemned Bathinda Appalaraju to death for the horrific 2021 killings of six family members, among them two young children, in Pendurthi.
As per Visakhapatnam Police, the court found Appalaraju guilty under multiple IPC provisions, imposing capital punishment under Section 302 alongside a ₹10,000 penalty.
The convicted additionally received:
- Seven years’ rigorous imprisonment plus ₹1,000 fine under IPC-449
Five years’ hard labor with ₹500 penalty under IPC-450
One-year terms each under IPC-451 and IPC-506(2), both carrying ₹500 fines - The gruesome attack unfolded at dawn on April 15, 2021, when the 47-year-old assailant used a sharp blade to slaughter the six victims following personal disputes.
The deceased comprised: Allu Ramadevi (47), Nekketla Aruna (36), Bammidi Ramana (61), Bammidi Usharani (31), Bammidi Udayanandan (3-year-old toddler), Bammidi Kiran (6-month-old infant).
The court’s ruling concludes a harrowing chapter in this multiple homicide case that shocked the local community.
