WB Govt withdraws Petition against Suvendu Adhikari as Supreme Court Refuses to Hear it

The West Bengal government withdrew the petition against Suvendu Adhikari, the leader of the opposition in the state, after the Supreme Court refuses to hear it. Supreme Court asked West Bengal Government to approach High Court.

West Bengal government had come to the Supreme Court seeking registration of FIR against Suvendu Adhikari connection with incident of stampede during blanket Distribution in Asansol.

West Bengal Govt Counsel had said that WB High Court had passed an order that state governmnet can not regsitered any more cases against Suvendu Adhiakari. WB Govt Counsel Sought cancellation of the order as well.

It is to be said that before Blanket distribution, Suvendu Adhikari Addressed the public Meeting where thousands of People were gathered. The stampede took place when people ran towards the stage to get blankets.
