A court in Yavatmal (Maharashtra) has denied the bail application of a woman accused of duping people of more than Rs 7 crore through ponzi schemes.
The woman, Meera Phadnis, allegedly misled investors by claiming to be a relative of Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and top RSS functionaries.
The sessions court rejected Phadnis’s bail plea last week. She was arrested by the Yavatmal police earlier this year for defrauding numerous individuals to the tune of Rs 7.77 crore by enticing them to invest in fraudulent schemes and failing to return their money.
