Justice DY Chandrachud

The Supreme Court will hear today the petitions related to same-sex marriage.

The Supreme Court was hearing a petition seeking recognition of same-sex marriage. Along with this, the Supreme Court had also issued notice on a transfer petition seeking transfer of a similar petition pending in the Delhi High Court to the Supreme Court.

Apart from Hyderabad-based gay couple Supriyo Chakraborty and Abhay Dang, Partha Firoz Mehrotra and Uday Raj have also filed petitions for the rights of the gay community.
