Talk of the Town: Victoria Gauri will take oath in K’taka HC Before SC Decision on Plea Against Her

The Supreme Court on Tuesday agreed to an urgent hearing on a petition filed against the appointment of Victoria Gauri, But the Registrar General Madras High Court issued a notification to Gauri Laxman to take oath of office at 10:30 am on Tuesday.

Elevated Advocate Lekshmana Chandra Victoria Gowri will be sworn in as an additional judge of the Madras High Court by the Acting Chief Justice.

However, two petitions challenging the recommendation of Collegium to appoint Victoria Gowri as judge are listed before the Supreme Court Bench of Justice Sanjiv Khanna and Justice MM Sunderesh.

one plea is filed by Anna Mathew and others, the second one is filed by R. Vaigai and another. The supplementary list was published by the Supreme Court in the late evening of Monday.

Legal experts are now keeping an eye on what will happen on Tuesday morning? Victoria Gauri will first take oath before the Supreme Court will take a decision on her appointment.
