Adv K Parameshwar Appointed as AAG for Uttar Pradesh in SC

Advocate K Parameshwar has been appointed as Additional Advocate General (AAG) to represent the Government of Uttar Pradesh (UP) in matters before the Supreme Court of India.

The UP government released a notification regarding his appointment on August 14, 2023

Having completed his education at NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad in 2007, Parameshwar has accumulated 16 years of practice in the Supreme Court.

Importantly, he has functioned as amicus curiae in numerous cases before the top court.

These encompass the comprehensive forest protection case, All India Judges Association vs Union of India, the suo motu case concerning insufficiencies and drawbacks in criminal trials, the suo motu case ensuring prompt resolution of cases under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, and the public interest litigation (PIL) plea against manual scavenging.

He also aided Amicus Curiae Raju Ramachandran in the 2012 Nirbhaya gang rape case.
