Amaravati Inner Ring Road Case: SC Dismisses AP Govt’s Plea Challenging Bail of TDP Chief Naidu

Amaravati Inner Ring Road Case

The Supreme Court on Monday dismissed the plea filed by the Andhra Pradesh government challenging the anticipatory bail granted to TDP chief N. Chandrababu Naidu in the Amaravati Inner Ring Road scam case.

A bench comprising Justices Sanjiv Khanna and Dipankar Datta rejected the state government’s plea, which contested the High Court’s January 10 order granting relief to Naidu. The bench observed that an appeal related to the same FIR involving other accused had been dismissed by the court last year.

Considering the prior order issued by the court, the bench expressed its disinclination to entertain the appeal of the state government.

The Inner Ring Road scam case revolves around the manipulation of the master plan of Amaravati capital city, the alignment of Inner Ring Road, and the seed capital. The allegations suggest that these actions led to undue enrichment for several companies during Naidu’s tenure as chief minister.
