MAHARASHTRA POLITICAL FIASCO

• A Constitution bench of the Supreme Court to hear the two pleas filed by the Eknath Shinde camp of the Shiv Sena challenging the disqualification notices issued against 16 rebel lawmakers who switched sides. The court will pronounce order on the aspect of whether or not to refer SCs 2016 Nebam Rabia ruling dealing with power of speaker to deal with disqualification pleas during pendency of notice seeking his removal in house to 7 judge bench.

DELHI MAYOR ELECTIONS

• Court to hear the fresh plea filed by Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) mayoral candidate Shelly Oberoi and others seeking early holding of the mayoral election for the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD). A bench comprising Chief Justice DY Chandrachud and Justices PS Narasimha and JB Pardiwala took note of the submissions of a lawyer, appearing for the AAP, seeking urgent hearing of the plea.

• Court to continue hear plea seeking court-monitored probe into Hindenburg Research report on Adani firms.

• PIL seeking direction to Centre, Government of NCT Delhi and Municipal bodies to ensure that the public urinals are clean and sanitary with proper availability of clean water and electricity supply in Delhi High Court.

• Court continue to hear plea of Mehrauli Minority Shop Owner plea againt demolition drive. Court on last date had directed authorities to maintain status quo on various properties in the Mehrauli Archaeological Park area in the national capital which have been identified to be demolished as part of an anti-encroachment drive.

• Court to hear plea alleging that the agreement and release of ₹7,100 crore between DMRC and Reliance Infra is an outcome of corruption and fraud for vested interest to draw commission out of the entire amount.
