  • The Chief Justice of India to administer oath to 5 newly elevated judges of the Supreme Court of India. The five judges are – Rajasthan Chief Justice Pankaj Mithal, Patna High Court Chief Justice Sanjay Karol, Manipur High Court Chief Justice P V Sanjay Kumar, Allahabad High Court Judge Manoj Misra and Ahsanuddin Amanullah, Judge, Patna High Court
  • Supreme Court to hear plea by National Commission for the Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR)’s plea  challenging a recent judgement of the Punjab and Haryana High Court which held that a 16-year-old Muslim girl can enter into a valid marriage
  • Supreme Court will hear the petition filed by Retired Major General, S G Vombatkere, seeking a direction to declare Section 124A (Sedition Law) of the Indian Penal Code, 1860 as void and inoperative for being ultra vires under Article 19(1)(a) of theConstitution of India read with Articles 14 and 21.
  • Supreme Court to continue hearing on the Public Interest Litigation (PIL) by Christian organisations and individuals which alleged that attacks on Christian priests and Churches have increased in the country. The petition was filed by the National Solidarity Forum, the Evangelical Fellowship of India and Archbishop of Bangalore Diocese, Peter Machado
