The Supreme Court on Tuesday issued notices to the Directorate of Enforcement (ED) and Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) regarding AAP leader Manish Sisodia’s bail plea in the liquor policy case.
A bench of Justices B.R. Gavai, Sanjay Karol, and K.V. Viswanathan directed both the CBI and ED to file their responses and scheduled the matter for further hearing on July 29, 2024.
Manish Sisodia has moved the Supreme Court challenging the Delhi High Court’s order that rejected his bail plea.
The former Delhi deputy chief minister was arrested by the probe agencies in connection with an alleged scam involving the scrapped liquor policy.
On February 26 last year, Sisodia was apprehended by the CBI, while the ED arrested him on March 8. Subsequently, Sisodia resigned from the Delhi cabinet on February 28.
