Every Cases In SC Requires Time And Money: Justice PS Narasimha Refuses To Adjourn Case

Justice Narasimha

The Supreme Court expressed its displeasure on Wednesday with lawyers’ casual approach to requesting adjournments in their cases.

A lawyer asked a vacation bench comprising Justice PS Narasimha to adjourn a case in which they were appearing.

However, Justice Narasimha emphasized that listing cases in the Apex Court takes time and money, and it should not be taken lightly. He expressed concern about cases being scheduled during court vacations only to be adjourned by parties.

“Every case listing here in the Supreme Court requires time and money. You cannot take cases so lightly. You all have mentioned the cases and they have been listed in the vacations and then you seek an adjournment,” Justice Narasimha remarked.

As a result, he refused to adjourn the case and instead directed the lawyer to read the case documents and appear in Court for a hearing.
