The Supreme Court will, today pronounce its judgement on the bail plea of Ashish Mishra in the Lakhimpur Kheri violence case. The bench of Justices Surya Kant and JK Maheshwari will pronounced the order.
During the hearing the Uttar Pradesh government had opposed the bail plea of Ashish Mishra in the Lakhimpur Kheri violence case saying that the alleged offences against Mishra were grave in nature and granting bail in such cases may impact the society adversely.
Ashish Mishra’s advocate Senior Advocate Mukul Rohatgi said his client is not a danger to society and insisted on granting bail to Mishra.
Senior Advocate Dushyant Dave, who appeared for the complainant, said that the Supreme Court if Mishra is out on bail then it will send a terrible message.
