Lakhimpur Kheri violence: Supreme Court Extends Interim Bail of Ashish Mishra

Lakhimpur Kheri violence accused Ashish Mishra has got a big relief from the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court has extended the interim bail of Ashish Mishra till further orders despite the efforts of lawyer Prashant Bhushan. In fact, on January 25, the Supreme Court granted bail to Ashish Mishra with conditions. The supreme court had said that it will hear on March 14 and review whether the bail period can be extended or not.

Reviewing the interim bail of Ashish Mishra, he said that he is satisfied with the progress of the trial in the Lakhimpur Kheri case and the trial is going on properly. Therefore, the Supreme Court said that the interim bail granted to Ashish Mishra will continue till further orders.

The Supreme Court, while granting bail to Ashish Mishra, had said that he will have to leave UP within a week of his release on interim bail and he cannot even stay in Delhi. Along with this, the court had also ordered Ashish to surrender his passport and said that he can come to UP only to participate in the trial court hearing. Along with this, wherever he lives outside Delhi and UP, he will also have to appear in the concerned police station.
