The Supreme court on Tuesday granted interim bail to Suspended Jharkhand IAS officer Pooja Singhal, accused in MNREGA scam case. The Court has granted interim bail of one month to Pooja on the grounds of her daughter’s illness. While granting bail to Pooja Singhal, the Supreme Court has put a condition that she will not go to Ranchi during this period. The ED had arrested Pooja Singhal on May 11 last year in the MNREGA scam case in Khunti, Jharkhand.
Earlier In the ED’s action, about Rs 19 crore was also recovered from his associate CA Suman Kumar. The Jharkhand High Court rejected the petition refusing to grant bail to Pooja Singhal. The High Court has said in its order that there is no basis for granting bail to an IAS officer involved in corruption, so the bail application of Pooja Singhal is dismissed.
