“Nation Grateful To Ambedkar For Framing Constitution”: Justice B R Gavai

Supreme Court Judge B R Gavai paid heartfelt tribute to Dr B R Ambedkar on his birth anniversary, acknowledging his pivotal role in shaping India’s democratic foundation through the Constitution.

Speaking at an event held on the Supreme Court premises, Justice Gavai reflected on Ambedkar’s enduring impact on the nation’s strength and unity.

“The nation is always grateful to Dr Ambedkar because of the Constitution framed by him and his colleagues. India is strong, progressing, and one of the fastest-developing countries in the world. It is his philosophy, ideology, and vision that are keeping us united and strong,” he said.

Visionary Behind India’s Democracy

Dr Ambedkar, born in 1891 into a Dalit family, rose to become one of India’s most influential leaders. A brilliant academic, he pursued higher education abroad and later returned to lead efforts toward building an inclusive and just society.

As the architect of the Indian Constitution and the country’s first Law Minister, his work laid the foundation for India’s democratic values and legal system.

His efforts to empower marginalized communities and establish equal rights continue to guide India’s social and political journey.

Nation Remembers Architect Of The Constitution

Justice Gavai’s tribute comes as part of nationwide celebrations marking Ambedkar Jayanti, observed every year on April 14 to honor Dr Ambedkar’s birth and legacy. From policymakers to civil society, tributes poured in recognizing his contribution to justice, equality, and national progress.

Dr Ambedkar passed away in 1956, but his influence remains deeply embedded in India’s constitutional framework and its ongoing pursuit of social justice.
