Supreme Court
The Supreme Court on Tuesday observed that there appear to be more accused than candidates in the Rajasthan Exam Irregularities Case.
The vacation bench of Justices KV Viswanathan and N Kotiswar Singh made these remarks while considering bail for an individual implicated in the paper leak and exam irregularities case.
The bench was hearing the bail plea filed by an accused in the Rajasthan Public Services Exam case.
A request for early hearing was made in connection with petitions related to irregularities in the RPSC exam.
One of the petitions was a bail application filed by an accused, while the other sought postponement of the RPSC School Lecturer and Coach Exam 2024.
The exam began on June 23 and will continue until July 4, with over 6 lakh candidates applying for 2,202 posts across 909 centres in 15 districts.
Considering the widespread concerns over transparency and fairness, the top court acknowledged the gravity of the issue and agreed to list the matter for further hearing.
