The Supreme Court on Friday disposed of a plea by Popular Front of India leader AS Ismail seeking interim bail on medical grounds after the Delhi government assured that physiotherapy facilities would be provided to him in Tihar Jail as per medical advice.

A bench of Justices KV Viswanathan and N Kotiswar Singh noted the submission by Delhi government counsel Archana Pathak Dave, who stated that physiotherapy is available in Tihar Jail and would be extended to Ismail if recommended by doctors.
The court had earlier rejected his interim bail request but sought clarification on medical care availability.
Radicalizing Muslim Youth Charges On Ismail
Ismail, arrested by the NIA under UAPA, is accused of radicalizing Muslim youth and promoting anti-government activities.
A former SIMI member and ex-PFI Tamil Nadu president, he faces charges of inciting violence to establish Islamic rule.
Decision Of The Bench
After verifying the state’s assurances, the bench closed the matter, ending judicial proceedings on the interim bail plea.
