The Supreme court Collegium recently recommended the transfer of Justice Nani Tagia from the Gauhati High Court to the Patna High Court.
In a resolution posted on the Supreme Court website, the Collegium mentioned that it had suggested the transfer during a meeting held on August 23.
Nevertheless, Justice Tagia had put forth a plea to either continue serving at any of the benches of the Gauhati High Court or to be relocated to the Tripura High Court.
Despite this request, the Collegium turned down the plea and reaffirmed its original recommendation. The resolution stated that the proposed transfer aims to enhance the “better administration of justice.”
