SC First Woman Judge Justice Fathima Beevi Passes Away at Age 96

The first woman Judge of the Supreme Court and former Governor of Tamil Nadu, Justice Fathima Beevi, has passed away at the age of 96 in a private hospital.

State Health Minister Veena George expressed condolences, describing Justice Beevi’s death as extremely painful.

The minister highlighted Justice Beevi’s significant contributions as the first woman judge of the Supreme Court and as the Governor of Tamil Nadu.

George acknowledged Justice Beevi as a courageous woman with numerous accomplishments, noting that her life exemplified how willpower and a sense of purpose can overcome adversity.
