Shinde vs Uddhav : SC Fixes Jan 13 to hear All Petitions Filed by Both Factions of Shivsena

The Supreme court will hear on January 13, a batch of petitions filed by shiv sena, faction lead by
Maharashtra Chief minister Eknath Shinde and Uddhav thackeray.

Appearing for Uddhav faction, senior advocate Devdatt Kamat said “there is some urgency as a completely unconstitutional Govt is being run in the state of Maharashtra.

We will hear it on January 13, CJI Chandrachud said

The Uddhav group had raised several constitutional questions related to defection, merger and disqualification and the power of Speaker.

Petitions filed by each faction against one another pertained to situations as witnessed in the state in the wake of Eknath Shinde’s rebellion following which the MVA govt collapsed and a new govt was formed by Shinde faction with support from BJP.
