Big Setback for Shahi Eidgah Committee, Mathura Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi Cases to be Continue in Allahabad High Court

The Masjid Committee has received a blow from the Supreme Court in the Mathura Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi dispute. On Tuesday (March 19), the Supreme Court has rejected the petition of the Mosque Committee. The committee had challenged the decision of the Allahabad High Court, in which 15 cases related to the dispute were ordered to be heard by combining them together. The Supreme Court asked the petitioners to keep it in the High Court only. The controversy regarding the Shahi Idgah Mosque built in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh is quite old.

The Hindu side claims that the royal Idgah mosque built in Mathura is built on the birthplace of Shri Krishna. The Hindu side is fighting a case against this. Let us tell you that the Mosque Committee has also filed a petition in the Supreme Court against transferring the petitions related to this dispute from the Mathura District Court to the High Court. At present this petition is pending in the Supreme Court.

What is Shahi Eidgah controversy?
Let us tell you that it is claimed that Lord Krishna was born in Katra Keshav Dev area of Mathura. It is claimed that during the Mughal period, during the rule of Aurangzeb, a part of the temple was demolished and the present Shahi Idgah Mosque was built on it. The Hindu side has claimed in the petition filed against it that Hindu symbols are visible in every part of the mosque.
Allahabad High Court had ordered a survey on 14 December 2023 at the disputed site of Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi and Shahi Idgah Mosque. However, the Supreme Court has banned this. The Hindu side claims that Aurangzeb had ordered the demolition of the grand temple and the mosque was built on the remains of the temple itself.
