Sushant Singh Rajput Death Case: SC Relief To Actor Rhea Chakraborty

In a significant relief for Rhea Chakraborty, the Supreme Court on Friday has dismissed a petition from the Central Bureau of Investigation, the state of Maharashtra, and the Bureau of Immigration that challenged the Bombay High Court’s decision to quash look-out circulars against Chakraborty, her brother Showik, and their father.

The circulars were issued in connection with the Sushant Singh Rajput death case.

A bench comprising Justices B.R. Gavai and K.V. Viswanathan described the petition as “frivolous,” suggesting it was motivated by the high-profile status of the accused. Justice Gavai remarked, “We are warning. You are filing such a frivolous petition, only because one of the accused is a high-profile person… It will be with exemplary cost. Both persons have deep roots in society.”

When the CBI counsel requested a pass-over for the matter, Justice Gavai responded, “If you want cost and some compliments to CBI, we will pass over.”

Further details on the case are pending, but this ruling marks a notable moment in the ongoing legal proceedings surrounding the high-profile case.
