A day after Justice Kishan Kaul remarks on government, the law minister kiren Rijiju said that in Democracy ‘Paublic is Malik’of this country. And country is governed by the constitution and wishes of the peopls, no body can warns anyone. Actually, the top court reportedly warned of action for any delay in clearing transfer and appointment of judges.
The Law minister Kiren Rijiju said,’Sometimes discussions are held in the country on some matters and in a democracy everyone has the right to express their opinion. But people sitting in responsible positions have to think before saying anything, whether it will benefit the country or not,” he said, referring to remarks of a Supreme Court bench.’
Kiren Rijiju’s remark comes after a Supreme Court bench of Justices SK Kaul and AS Oka expressed their displeasure over the delay in clearing recommendations for the transfer of high court judges.
The bench had said, “Let us not take any stand which would be very uncomfortable”, adding that further delay would force them to “take some very difficult decisions”. Following this comment, the government announced the appointment of five judges to the Supreme Court.
