Wrestler’s Sexual Harassment Case: Delhi Court Grants Bail To WFI Chief Brij Bhushan

A Delhi court on Thursday granted regular bail to Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, the Wrestling Federation of India chief, and co-accused Vinod Tomar in the wrestlers’ sexual harassment case.

The court ordered the accused to furnish bail bonds worth Rs 25,000, emphasizing strict adherence to the specified conditions.

The court-imposed conditions stating that the duo aren’t allowed to leave the country without prior permission of the court and that they will not influence witnesses or tamper with the evidence.

The next hearing is scheduled for July 28, 2023.

Previously, six women wrestlers have levelled allegations of sexual harassment against the former WFI chief, leading to the Delhi Police filing a charge sheet on June 15 under sections 354 (assault or criminal force to a woman with intent to outrage her modesty), 354A (sexual harassment), 354D (stalking) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
