Man Hurls Slipper At Magistrate: Kurla Court

The Kurla police has recently arrested a 39-year-old accused who hurled footwear at a magistrate in Kurla Court.

As per police, the accused was upset that the trial in two of his cases was not starting so he threw his footwear at the magistrate in frustration.

An officer said that the accused Javed Shaikh alias Pradeep Tayade, a Mankhurd resident had two cases registered against him at NM Joshi & Trombay police station related to fights he was involved in previously.

The officer stated that on Saturday the accused came to courtroom no 60 around 11am where his trial was to be conducted. However, he waited for an hour and when the trial didn’t start, he got angry and started shouting.

Thereafter, he hurled his footwear at the judge, an officer said. Police officials on the spot overpowered the accused and took him to the Kurla police station where an FIR was registered against him on charges of deterring a public servant from performing his duty among other charges.

When questioned by an official, the accused expressed that out of frustration to visit the court again and again as the trial in his case was not starting, despite him requesting lawyers and the court.

Previously, when he was made to wait again, he lost his temper and flung his footwear at the magistrate. The accused was later produced before the court and remanded to police custody for two days.
