Police have arrested 6 individuals, including the CEO of a herbal healthcare company, for allegedly manufacturing and distributing Alprazolam, a psychotropic substance, in the Delhi-NCR region.

Dr. Naveen Aggarwal, CEO of Biocase Foods and Extracts Pvt. Ltd., located in Hisar, Haryana, was among those arrested. He received the Indian Achiever’s Award and was named ‘CEO of the Year’ last year. Anand Kumar alias Sonu, owner of Sakshi Enterprises Ltd., was also taken into custody for his involvement in the trade of the substances.

The other arrested individuals include Deepak Kumar, Rajender Kumar Mishra, Ram Ashish Maurya, and Mukesh Kumar, who acted as suppliers in the operation.

The investigation began on March 23 when police apprehended Rajender Prasad Mishra alias RP in Delhi’s Brijpuri area and discovered approximately 18 kg of Alprazolam powder. Mishra admitted to being a carrier for a drug cartel, indicating he procured the powder from Ram Ashish Maurya and delivered it to Anand Kumar in Karawal Nagar, Delhi.

Following this, police conducted raids and seized ₹1,17,60,350 from the residences of Anand Kumar and Ram Ashish Maurya. Further inquiries led to the arrest of Deepak Kumar, who revealed that the Alprazolam was manufactured at Dr. Aggarwal’s facility in Hisar. Traces of Alprazolam powder were subsequently found at the factory with assistance from the forensic science laboratory (FSL).

The investigation is ongoing, and police are continuing to interrogate the accused.
