A shocking incident has recently come to light in Delhi’s Vivek Vihar area, where a woman’s body was found stuffed in a bed box, wrapped in a blanket, and placed inside a bag.
The gruesome discovery was made after police received a call about a strong, putrid smell emanating from a DDA flat in Satyam Enclave.
Incident Unfolds
According to police, the call was received at 4:37 pm, and upon arrival, they found the house locked from the outside with traces of blood near the back door. The body, believed to be of a woman between 30 & 50 years old, was found inside the bed box with an incense stick placed on top.
The owner of the house, Vivekanand Mishra, has been detained for questioning. Police said that he is between 50 and 60 years old and had visited the flat on Thursday night and again on Friday afternoon. The forensic team has collected samples from the spot, and an investigation into the case is underway.
Similar Incident
In a chillingly similar incident, a 36-year-old techie from Bengaluru, Rakesh Rajendra, killed his 32-year-old wife, Gouri Anil Sambrekar, after an argument over her job. He stuffed her body in a suitcase, locked his house, and drove towards Pune before informing his landlord about the crime.
The two incidents highlight a disturbing trend of violence against women in India. The cases are a stark reminder of the need for greater awareness and action to prevent such crimes.
Police Response
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Shahdara) Prashant Gautam said, “We are investigating the case, and forensic experts have collected samples from the spot.” Shahdara Addl DCP Neha Yadav added, “The body has not been identified yet, and legal action is underway.”
