Antilia Bomb Scare Case: SC Grants Interim Bail To Former Mumbai Policeman Pradeep Sharma

The Supreme Court granted on Monday 3-week interim bail to former police officer Pradeep Sharma, who was arrested in connection with the Antilia bomb scare case.

A vacation bench, led by Justice Aniruddha Bose, scheduled the matter for hearing on June 26 and requested Sharma to provide a medical report regarding his wife’s treatment status.

In June 2021, Sharma was arrested in the case and later sought bail on humanitarian grounds, citing his wife’s deteriorating health after surgery. He specifically requested interim bail to care for his wife.

Previously, the apex court issued a notice on Sharma’s plea challenging the Bombay High Court’s denial of bail.

Last year, Sharma approached the High Court challenging a February 2022 order of a special NIA court that rejected his bail plea.

The Antilia bomb scare case involves the discovery of an explosives-laden SUV near Mukesh Ambani’s residence in Mumbai. On the other hand, Sharma is accused of assisting his former colleague, Waze, in the alleged elimination of Mansukh Hiran.
