Delhi HC Dismisses PIL Against CJI DY Chandrachud and imposes Fine ₹1 lakh

The Delhi high court Come heavily on a petitioner, rejected his plea and fined him ₹1 lakh also. Actually, The Petitioner Sanjiv Kumar Tiwari President of Gram Uday Foundation filed a PIL Challenging appointment of Justice DY Chandrachud ss Chief Justice of India.
A bench Comprising Chief Justice Satish Chandra Sharma and Justice Subramonium Prasad stated that

‘The petition has only been filed only to gain publicity without there being any material,” Bench dismissed the petition and imposed costs of ₹1 lakh on the petitioner also. The Bench observed that the petition was not a public interest litigation but was a ‘publicity oriented petition.
The petitioner Sanjeev Kumar Tiwari pleaded that the appointment of Justice Chandrachud is a violation of the provisions of the constitution. He prayed for an immediate stay on Justice Chandrachud’s appointment.
Petitioner, who called himself- a well-trained intelligent common citizen of the India. He sought an inquiry to be conducted by the security agencies against the new CJI to ascertain that he “does not have any kind of relation with the anti-nationals and Naxalite Christian terrorists”.
He also claimed that Justice Chandrachud “will be aware in destroying the traitors who are plotting to assassinate the Prime Minister.” The PIL also said lawyers like Prashant Bhushan, Indira Jaising want the Chief Justice to be “their accomplice”.
2nd PIL Against CJI

It is to be known to all that last week, the Supreme Court had also dismissed a similar plea against appointment of Justice Chandrachud as CJI.
Justice DY Chandrachud was sworn in as the 50th Chief Justice of India on November 9, Wednesday.
President of India, Droupadi Murmu administered the oath of office to him at a ceremony held at Rashtrapati Bhavan.
Justice Chandrachud took over from former CJI UU Lalit who retired from office on November 8, Tuesday.
